[ algumas pessoas ]

algumas pessoas
saem da nossa vida, algumas pessoas
entram sem convite
na nossa vida e sentam-se,
algumas pessoas nela
caminham calmamente, algumas pessoas
oferecem-te uma rosa
ou compram-te um carro novo,
algumas pessoas
ficam muito próximas de ti, algumas pessoas
que esqueceste por completo,
algumas pessoas, algumas pessoas
são tu próprio,
algumas pessoas
nunca viste de todo, algumas pessoas
comem espargos, algumas pessoas
são crianças,
algumas pessoas sobem ao telhado,
sentam-se à mesa,
descansam nas redes, passeiam com guarda-chuvas
algumas pessoas observam-te,
algumas pessoas nunca notaram em ti, algumas pessoas
querem dar-te a mão, algumas pessoas
morrem durante a noite,
algumas pessoas são outras pessoas, algumas são tu mesmo, outras
não são,
algumas são.

[ guardian angel ]

i am the bird that knocks at your window in the morning
and your companion, whom you cannot know,
the blossoms that light up for the blind.

i am the glacier’s crest above the forests, the dazzling one
and the brass voices from cathedral towers.
the thought that suddenly comes over you at midday
and fills you with a singular happiness.

i am one you have loved long ago.
i walk alongside you by day and look intently at you
and put my mouth on your heart
but you don’t know it.

i am your third arm and your second
shadow, the white one,
whom you don’t have the heart for
and who cannot ever forget you.

[ Rolf Jacobsen (1907-1994) ]

{ so many thoughts, so little words}

swallow sadness.
chew on confusion.
bite boredom.
feast on fear.
wolf down worry.
digest it all
it's all food,
it's all nutritious Life
no matter what form it takes.

[ all the running ]

Alice constantly running but remaining in the same spot.
"Well, in our country," said Alice, still panting a little, "you'd generally get to somewhere else — if you run very fast for a long time, as we've been doing."
"A slow sort of country!" said the Queen. "Now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!"
